Background
I've been a professional educator for over 25 years in a wide range of settings including summer camps, out door education facilities, raptor centers, ski hills, rafting trips, staff training intensives, mentor roles, curriculum writing positions, English teaching in remote areas, private events, workshops for businesses, consulting, and after school programs. This includes helping to start and run Ajax Adventure camp in Aspen Colorado for almost a decade, providing consulting for summer camps on activity development, and my current position as director of fun at ivy camps usa.
Early struggles in my own educational experience taught me to align values, exploration, and play with learning and practice.
Using these methods, I've taught over 100 skills in various capacities.
Through this i have seen over and over how positive relationships with what we learn and practice can enrich peoples lives and make learning easier. I spent time researching how play effects practice and learning; using this in start up summer camps, consulting projects, and coaching.
The more I got to teach these concepts, the more I came to realize that highly motivated, perfection driven people are often suffering and have a huge need for what I offer, especially if they have been pushed hard in their learning and drive for success.
Supporting people with skill relationships is my greatest passion. I do it the same way that I breathe.
